Ginger Vodka and Orange Juice Cocktail

This delicious Ginger Vodka and Orange Juice Cocktail is a spicy-sweet concoction that will have you breathing a sigh of comfort.

Ingredients

Vodka and fresh orange juice with candied ginger

    Crystallized Ginger Simple Syrup:

    • ½ cup water
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup sliced crystallized candied ginger

    For the Cocktail:

    • 1 teaspoon crystalized ginger simple syrup - you can add more but the orange juice adds a lot of sweetness
    • 2 ounces vodka
    • 6 ounces fresh-squeezed orange juice

    Instructions

    Crystallized Ginger Simple Syrup:

    • Simmer water, sugar, and ginger in a small saucepan for 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
    • Let cool until you can pour it into a container that can go in the refrigerator to chill for at least two hours. It will keep in the fridge for a week.

    For the Cocktail:

    • Add simple syrup, vodka and orange juice to a tumbler.
    • Stir and add ice. You can add a slice or two of crystallized ginger to the bottom of the glass too.
